Financial Holds

A financial hold can result in a denial of services such as registering for future enrollment and readmission requests. You can confirm if a financial hold has been placed or released on your account by going to the View Your Account page in your ZOT Account.

Financial Holds may be placed on your account for any of the following reasons:

  • Past Due Balance on your ZOT Account.
  • Returned Items
    Payments returned unpaid by the bank.
  • Transfer Unpaid Debt to Collection
    When a ZOT Account charge is seriously past due, it is moved from your Zot Account to a separate collections account to be referred to a collection agency and credit reporting bureaus.
  • Parking Obligations
    Please contact Transportation and Distribution Services (TDS) at 949-824-7275 for information. A Parking hold will be released only when Campus Billing and Collections receives an authorization e-mail from TDS.
  • Summer Session
    Campus Billing and Collections will clear holds placed by Summer Session on your ZOT Account once an authorization email is received from Summer Session.
  • Exit Interview
    If you have a financial hold related to your Federal Direct Loans (subsidized or unsubsidized) or Campus Based Loans, you must complete online Exit Interview Counseling. Please go to Exit Interview for more information.
  • Multiple Financial Holds
    You may have more than one financial hold. Please contact Campus Billing and Collections by telephone at 949-UCI-BILL or by email at cbs@uci.edu for more information and assistance with resolving the holds listed above.
