A financial hold can result in a denial of services including registering for future enrollment, processing transcript and readmission requests, and issuing your diploma.
View the Current Account page in your Zot Account to confirm a hold has been placed or released. A financial hold is placed on your account for any of the following reasons:
- past due balance on your Zot Account
- returned check, returned e-payment (RETACH), or rejected e-payment (REJACH)
- written off ZOT Account charge referred for collection
- not completing Online Exit Interview Counseling for your Campus Based Student Loan(s)
- past due or delinquent Campus Based Student Loan
You may have more than one financial hold. Contact Campus Billing by telephone at 949.UCI.BILL (824.2455) or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information and assistance with resolving the holds listed above.
If you have a Parking hold, you must contact Transportation and Distribution Services (T&DS) at (949) 824-7275 for information. A Parking hold will be released only when Campus Billing receives an authorization e-mail from T&DS.
If you have a financial hold related to your Federal Direct Loans (subsidized or unsubsidized), you must complete online Exit Interview Counseling with the US Department of Education at studentloans.gov. Use your FAFSA credentials to login, and take a screen shot of the exit interview confirmation page when you finish.
The Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships (OFAS) will be notified about your exit interview within 3 business days of completion. If you need a Direct Loan hold released sooner, please send a request to Joann Lim in OFAS at email@example.com . Be sure to include your full name and UCI student ID number, and paste a screen shot of the exit interview confirmation page into the body of your message.
